Slow Food International
The Slow Food Movement around the World
The Slow Food movement is an international association born in 1989 in Italy on the initiative of Carlo Petrini. It was the installation of a McDonald's in the Eternal City, Rome, which pushed Mr. Petrini and his friends to react.
Against the standardization of consumption patterns and the development of Fast Food, Slow Food works every day to reorient our consumption model to refocus on value, goodness, cleanness and fairness.
At a time of globalization, climate change and the economic crisis which has hit the agricultural world hard, the aim of the association is to make everyone aware of the choice they have on a daily basis and the impact of this one on what surrounds it, its territory, its neighbors, and on its own health!
