Slow Food International

The Slow Food Movement Worldwide

The Slow Food movement is an international association founded in 1989 in Italy by Carlo Petrini. It was the opening of a McDonald's in the Eternal City, Rome, that prompted Mr. Petrini and his friends to take action.

Against the standardization of consumption patterns and the development of Fast Food, Slow Food works every day to reorient our consumption model towards a refocusing on value, goodness, cleanliness and justice.

In this era of globalization, climate change, and the economic crisis that has severely impacted the agricultural world, the association's goal is to raise awareness among everyone of the choices available to them on a daily basis and the impact these choices have on their surroundings, their territory, their neighbors, and their own health!
